How it works

Eight sets of constants, one formula.

IPF GL is total × 100 ÷ (A − B·e^(−C·bodyweight)). The IPF publishes A, B and C for men and women, classic and equipped, full meet and bench only. This calculator uses the 2020 table from the IPF’s own document.

Pick the right equipment and event above. A bench-only score uses your bench, not your total.

FAQ

IPF GL questions lifters ask

What does “classic” mean?
Classic is raw: belt, sleeves and wrist wraps allowed, no supportive suits or bench shirts. Equipped means single- or multi-ply gear.
Why is my GL score so much smaller than DOTS?
GL is scaled so that the best lifters land near 100–120 points, while DOTS lands near 500. The scales differ; rankings mostly agree.
